Staying true to the idea of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and focusing on better operationalising the 'next generation' BrahMos, work is underway on first prototypes that are expected to be ready by 2024. 

There are news reports that Gulf countries have expressed interest in buying Brahmos supersonic missile from India

India has successfully conducted many missile tests in the last month or so. It is to be noted that these tests come at a time when the India-China standoff refuses to relent. This can also be viewed as a strong measure by India, to China that it can go any lengths to protect its territorial integrity 

India today (30 September) successfully test-fired extended range BrahMos supersonic cruise missile

The integration of the missiles with the jets aims at reinforcing the combat capability of the Indian Air Force (IAF)

The air-launched BrahMos missile is a 2.5-ton supersonic air to surface cruise missile with ranges close to 300 km, designed and developed by BAPL 

According to a senior official, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is working to equip Sukhoi aircraft to carry and launch BrahMos missiles. Once successful, Su-30 MKIs could easily carry out the long-range strike.

The retrieved substance from the sea had a logo of Brahmos with the date October 24, 2016, inscribed on it. This date is suspected to be the date of manufacture.

Two of the warships will be constructed at the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia. In India, the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) will develop the warships under the ‘Male in India scheme l’. As per the plan, Russia will take four years to deliver the two Krivak class frigates armed with BrahMos cruise missiles. The Goa Shipyard is expected to take six to seven years

According to sources in the armed forces, the cost of each BrahMos missile is more than Rs 30 crore, which is considered to be very high, and is preventing the forces from ordering for more of those missiles
