Five nuns had protested near the Kerala high court at Kochi for 13 days, demanding the arrest of the bishop, who was accused of repeatedly raping a nun
 

The senior Catholic priest is facing allegations of raping the nun repeatedly between 2014 and 2016 and was arrested in Tripunithura on September 21 after three days of questioning. 

The nun, who was allegedly abused by Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal, on Tuesday, lodged a complaint against Kerala MLA PC George for using vulgar terms (prostitute) against her at a press conference recently.

Karakkamala parish has withdrawn the disciplinary action taken against Manathavadi diocese member Sister Lucy Kalappura, who had supported the protest staged by nuns against Bishop Franco Mulakkal in Kochi, Kerala.
 

The police will file a plea in the court at 2:30 PM on Monday. Rape accused Franco Mulakkal is remanded to judicial custody till October 6.
 

Sister Lucy Kalapura, who returned here on Sunday morning from Kochi, claimed she was informed orally by the Mother Superior that she should keep away from holding catechism classes, conducting prayers and other church- related duties.

It has been hinted that the police will request the court to take him in custody for three days. The bishop will submit a bail-plea in court.

Bishop Franco Mulakkal will be moved to the police club immediately. Later, they will take the decision about presenting him before the court.

Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who has been questioned by Kerala Police over allegations of rape and unnatural sex levelled by a Kerala nun, gets arrested today.

It has been said that Bishop Franco Mulakkal chose to resign since an arrest is likely following the questioning with respect to the Kerala nun rape case.

Though Franco Mulakkal was questioned for seven hours on Wednesday, police sources say he could not give exact answers to all the questions asked. 
 

Former Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal has alleged that the nun, who accused him of sexual abuse had some bad intentions. He said that he is innocent to the investigation team.
