Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has said that from June 1 2020, the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme will be implemented nationwide. 
During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha on 3rd December Paswan gave this information. He said that at present the facility of Point of Sale POS machines for ration cards has been started in 14 states. It will be started in other states soon. This would be made available after biometric/Aadhaar authentication on ePoS (electronic Point of Sale) devices.
 

According to the order, the new Aadhaar-based attendance punching system should be implemented in the government offices within six months and civil stations in three months.
 

Prasad explained, "At presently, what happens is that the guilty person who causes an accident flees the scene and gets a duplicate licence. This helps him go scot-free. However, with the Aadhaar linkage you can change your name but you cannot change your biometrics."

Biometric technology will identify passengers by their face, avoiding repeated presentation of boarding passes, passports or other physical identity documents.
