69-year-old Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has four weeks to form a coalition. He can also ask the President for a two-week extension if required. But, if he fails, centrist Gantz of the Blue and White party would likely be given a chance

In the recent election, Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a government. With this, the PM Office said that he would forgo his 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session due to the current "political circumstances."

India voted in favour of a decision introduced by Israel in the UN Economic and Social Council that objected to granting consultative status to a Palestinian organisation, after the Jewish state said the organisation did not disclose its ties with Sunni-Islamist fundamentalist organisation Hamas.
