The decision was taken after a meeting held at JD(S) chief Deve Gowda's residence in Bengaluru on late Friday night. Deve Gowda will file his nomination from Tumakuru on Monday.
 

It is highly likely that HD Deve Gowda might return to his tried and tested constituency of Hassan for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. There are talks that the former Prime Minister is diffident about his chances from the three other constituencies. But BJP’s R Ashoka said that a "vengeful Siddaramaiah might ensure Deve Gowda loses in Bangalore North and Tumakuru" to avenge his defeat in Chamundeshwari during the recent Assembly polls
