The case took a turn when the principal of a private school allegedly issued a fake date of birth certificate in favour of the accused youth. The deputy commissioner of Srinagar Shahid Choudary expressed shock over the certificate that was issued for defending the rapist.

Two terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Hajin area of Bandipora district in Kashmir. The security forces have carried out four encounters in Kashmir valley and have neutralised at least six terrorists in Kashmir Valley. 
 

The latest encounter broke out between the terrorists and the security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Friday morning. The firing is currently underway in the Ratnipora area of the district.

The avalanche prone areas include Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipora, Kargil and Leh.
