After the release of audio clips by Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy claiming that BS Yeddyurappa tried to get in touch with the son of the JD(S) MLA from Gurmitkal by offering cash and position to ditch the coalition government, the Youth Congress workers filed a complaint against the state BJP chief
 

Ahead of the Budget, Kumaraswamy released an audio clip of Yeddyurappa involved in a conversation to woo MLAs JD(S) MLA Naganagouda's son Sharanagouda Kandkur. Yeddyurappa claimed that the clip was fake.
 

Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy addressed an emergency press conference at his official residence before the scheduled presentation of the budget at 12.32 PM. While Kumaraswamy accused the BJP of poaching by releasing an audio clip, BJP president Yeddyurappa termed it fake.
 

In the audio clip, an unidentified woman is in conversation with a man, who identifies himself as Jayakumar. The woman is heard alleging that Jayakumar impregnated her daughter. Jayakumar is heard asking the woman to go ahead with abortion.
