Article 35  

The controversial article 35 A that sets Jammu and Kashmir apart from the rest of the country has drawn all the citizens of the State to the streets. Here's My Nation's exclusive interview with the petitioner, Ashwini Upadhyay. 

When confronted by MyNation over his remarks about the Indian tricolour, Rana said, 'When you scrap (Article) 370, when you scrap (Article) 35A, you play politics over bodies of our youth, who will hold the Indian tricolour in the State?'

Recently, at a party rally, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said that opposition parties and the people of J&K would oppose any move to abrogate Article 35A of the Constitution

The first petition has been filed by organisations like We the Citizen and the West Pakistan Refugee Action Committee. The second petition was filed by a woman named Charu Wali Khanna and Seema Rajdhan Bhargava. In this, they’ve pointed out the discrimination they’re facing due to marrying a non-Kashmiri and thus, raised the issue. They have described it as a direct violation of Article 14 of the Constitution.
