The Election Commission of India has said, 'The Election Commission of India expresses a deep sense of anguish about the casual and trivial manner in which the advisory to be neutral, impartial and non-discriminatory has been responded to by the Department of Revenue.'

First phase of voting has begun in naxal hit Chhattisgarh today and people have been thronging the polling stations in large numbers. Naxals' appeal to boycott the elections has been blatantly ignored by the residents of Konta.

During the investigation by NIA, it was found that Syed Hilal Andrabi, who was an active worker for JeM, provided logistics, weaponry, etc to the terrorists. He was currently residing in the valley. 

ECI has also hinted that cops are not actively checking and has asked them to take stern instructions to all from headquarters.
