Agni 5  

Dr Tessy Thomas spearheaded the Agni-4 project and also served as the project director for the Agni-5 project. For her immense contributions, she has also earned the title ‘Missile Woman of India.’

DRDO scientist Sheena Rani has been leading the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Agni series project since 1999. She is one of the key figures who contributed to the success of Agni-5 project.

The Agni-5 missile, which uses Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, successfully completed its first flight test, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the DRDO experts for their efforts.

On Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's 88th birth anniversary, we not only salute this visionary’s contribution to our great nation, but also thank him for nurturing, guiding and inspiring India’s ‘Missile Woman’ – Dr Tessy Thomas.
 

The induction of the Agni-5 into the strategic forces command, which handles the nuclear arsenal of the country, will bring the entire China in its range from anywhere in the country
