Indian American Abhijit Banerjee won the 2019 Nobel Economic Prize alongside his wife Esther Duflow and Harvard’s Michael Kermer. Banerjee was asked about the Indian economy to which he replied that it was doing badly. However, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar took to Twitter to point out reality that the poor have been oppressed for 70 years and are only now seeing the light of day.
