Abdul Nasar secured a job in the Kerala Health Department after completing his studies. He never appeared for the competitive UPSC exams and yet achieved the prestigious rank of IAS in the year 2017. He served as the Collector of Kollam District in 2019.

Abdul Nasar's life changed completely when he was five years old. He lost his father Abdul Khadar and was sent to an orphanage in Thalassery, Kannur in Kerala. His mother hoped that her child would be provided better food and education.
