2019 General Election  

The complaint filed said, 'The symbol allotted to the Congress Party is only of a hand and not the National Flag. The use of the national symbol as an appendage, adjunct to the hand, is being done obviously to further the prospects of the election of candidates of the Congress Party in the Parliamentary Elections - 2019'.

By cancelling the election in Vellore, the Election Commission has put the other candidates in a strange fix — they are happy that DMK's Kathir Anand is exposed. But they are unhappy that they have to spend money on the elections again.

In the 2014 general election, a 79.88% voter turnout was recorded in Assam, while 78.61% was recorded in Arunachal Pradesh, 79.62% in Manipur, 68.79% in Meghalaya, 61.69% in Mizoram, 87.82% in Nagaland and 84.72% in Tripura.

The Congress too moved the Election Commission seeking disqualification of the BJP president Amit Shah's nomination paper alleging that he concealed facts. Shah is fighting the Lok Sabha elections from Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat. 

 

 

 

For the 2019 general election, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has formed an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). While the SP is contesting 37 of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, the BSP contesting in 38 constituencies in the state. 

Cybercriminals have already launched phishing attacks and made fake websites related to the 2019 general election and their intention is to extract maximum data from the voters

The 2019 general election has become much more sensitive as compared to the previous one, at least in terms of the law and order situation prevailing in the country. This time the election commission has increased police observers in almost every state.

Modi said, "Maybe in 2024, there emerges a person who can challenge me, but there is no challenger in 2019, because the voters have made up their minds and they are not looking for an alternate candidate."
