 India has launched impactful government initiatives to empower women, spanning from education and health support to financial security and safety.

The Central and State governments run several schemes for the benefit of the girl child. Some of these scheme include Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Beti Samriddhi Yojana, and Ladli Lakshmi Yojana etc.

The Uttar Pradesh government's initiative Kanya Sumangala Yojana, offers financial assistance to girls from their birth through their college education. Starting from April 2024, government will provide Rs 25,000 for girls’ education.
