New Delhi: As fans and former cricketers hailed India captain Virat Kohli for his brilliant century against England in the ongoing first Test in Birmingham, Sri Lanka’s ex-cricketer Russell Arnold remained completely ignorant of what was going on at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

Kohli’s masterclass of 149 lit up the cricket world. He received plaudits for his knock which rescued India on the second day of the Test on Thursday (2 August).

Social media was abuzz with comments praising the Indian skipper. But Arnold seemed to be in a different world altogether.

The former Sri Lankan all-rounder took to Twitter to ask what was happening and rightly got trolled.

In the midst of all the celebrations around Kohli, Arnold, who is now a TV commentator, decided to showcase his ignorance with two posts on the micro-blogging website. This provoked Indians and they made fun of Arnold.

What needs to be appreciated cannot be ignored, but Arnold’s posts spoke otherwise.

His first tweet said, “What’s going on?? So many cricket tweets following around.”

And the second one went like this, “Oh…is there a match going???”

Infuriated Indian fans on Twitter couldn’t resist and trolled Arnold. They questioned him on how he could ignore “King Kohli”. Some also made fun of Sri Lankan cricket.

Was Arnold really ignorant about India-England Test or was he trying to rile up the Indian fans?
