The Indian cricket team, which is in England for a Test series, hoisted the tricolour outside St James Court hotel in London on Wednesday to celebrate India's Independence Day. Skipper Virat Kohli, coach Ravi Shastri and the rest of the team were seen hoisting and saluting the flag. But they weren't the only ones present. They were joined by former BCCI president Sharad Pawar and president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Praful Patel.

They hoisted the flag before leaving for Nottingham for the third Test.

“On behalf of the Indian cricket team all the way from the UK, here’s wishing everyone a happy Independence Day. Jai Hind,” Kohli said.

Jasprit Bumrah shared a picture of Kuldeep Yadav and him standing beneath the flag pole.

Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane posted a picture of himself with Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja on Instagram.

The BCCI also posted a video of the occasion.

India have lost the first two Tests of the series against England, at Edgbaston and at Lord's. The Indian team will now head to Trent Bridge for the third Test slated to start on August 18.
