Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress leader, Ratan Singh, from Sehore, passed away due to heart attack on Thursday. The tragic incident occurred when Ratan Singh was at the counting centre for the Lok Sabha election.
The news has left everyone in shock and condolences are pouring in from all sides.
Singh was collecting information on the trends at the counting centre. He then complained of chest pain while he was at the booth and then collapsed suddenly. Reports say that he was shifted to a nearby hospital, but died while in treatment.
The tragedy occurred when news of Congress’s imminent loss in the Lok Sabha elections has been doing the rounds. Congress had recently managed to form the government in Madhya Pradesh.
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP was leading with 28 out of 29 Lok Sabha seats, while the Congress managed to gain just one seat, according to recent trends. Pragya Singh Thakur, from BJP, is leading by 44,222 votes in Bhopal against Congress’s Digvijay Singh, while Jyotiraditya Scindia from Congress is falling behind by 18456 votes in Guna against KP Yadav from BJP.
According to current trends, the BJP will form the government with a massive majority, while it looks like the Congress is heading towards yet another defeat.
