Will DMK continue to reign supreme over AIADMK in northern Tamil Nadu?

The northern region of Tamil Nadu, thanks to the proximity to the state's capital Chennai, is better developed than its counterparts. However, they have their own issues that need to be solved.
Excluding Chennai, north zone consists of Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Vellore, Cuddalore and Villupuram.
The survey by AZ Research Partners has thrown light upon the political affiliations of the people in the region as well as the problems they face.
The people of the region are facing difficulties in dealing with issues related to drinking water, water for irrigation and higher education facilities.
19% of people say lack adequate drinking water is the main problem while  14% believe that lack of higher quality facilities. 15% of the voters have criticised the lack of proper irrigation water for agriculture.
11% of the voters have said that rising prices of commodities is making their lives miserable.
Dalits and Vanniyars are the two predominant castes in this region.
Similar to the Central region, northern Tamil Nadu too favours DMK. AIADMK has 25% vote share while 34% of the voters support DMK. Rajinikanth has 7% of the vote share and Kamal Haasan has garnered 4% of the vote share.
