In the video that has created ripples across Bengal and left the Trinamool Congress (TMC) red-faced, this Mamata aide is heard ordering his party MLA Abhikananda Thandar to frame a BJP leader and send her to jail under fake charges
If you had any doubt about the state of affairs in Bengal, this shocking video will wake you up. A key aide of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her pointsperson in southern Bengal, Anubrata Mandal, has openly asked a sitting TMC MLA to frame opposition leaders.
In the video that has created ripples across Bengal and left the Trinamool Congress (TMC) red-faced, this Mamata aide is heard ordering his party MLA Abhikananda Thandar to frame a BJP leader and send her to jail under fake charges.
It happened in Bolpur TMC office during the district committee meeting. Mandal, a habitual offender, was referring to a BJP leader Sangeeta. He is heard saying, “The fat woman who has a saree shop, the one who is a BJP leader... I will send her to jail under false charges if you cannot control her. Can you do it or not? Answer me in yes or no.”
Mandal was furious not only at the BJP leader but also another TMC leader. Mandal instructed the MLA to “get him arrested” as well.
All of this was taking place in the presence of State agriculture minister Ashish Bandopadhaya, fishery minister Chandranath Singh and other senior members of the TMC.
MyNation tried to contact Mandal but he didn't reply to our queries.
Mandal wields huge clout in the State politics, more than other ministers of the Banerjee government, precisely for his proximity to the chief minister. He is not new to controversies. In the past, he had threatened a cop in full public view and later justified it. He also threatened to gauge out the eyes of political rivals as well as intimidated the Opposition saying whoever would come in the way of development would be crushed. Every time he gets away with it, thanks to Banerjee! Will he get away this time as well after such brazen intimidating tactics? Only one person has the answer to it – TMC chief Mamata Banerjee.
