The Swedish Furniture retail company, IKEA is all set to open its store at Nagasandra in Bengaluru after Hyderabad, and the foundation laying ceremony will be held on October 11.

IKEA store is expected to be ready by the end of 2019. The store will be located behind Nagasandra Metro Station, to make it accessible for people.

IKEA group had acquired 14 acres in Bengaluru in June 2017. It has already bought land at Mumbai and the work for the store has also started.

The Bengaluru store will be 4.5 lakh sq ft and the Swedish furniture retailer is expecting at least 5 million visitors per year. The land has been acquired from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).

Thus, with plans of buying more land in different regions, IKEA aims at having 25 outlets in the country by 2025. It has already identified 49 cities to set up the stores.

IKEA will publicise its service of home delivery and at-home assembly services in India, more than it is practicing in other countries so far.

The Bengaluru IKEA store will also be a large outlet with restaurants and a seating capacity of 1,000. They are also planning to popularise touch stores, where the consumer can see, touch, taste and try things before purchasing it.

The Hyderabad store experienced a mad rush during the opening and the outlet is said to have realised that it was because people did not know what to expect inside the store and where  to go, as the outlet was large.

Thus the officials have already started planning to control any such situation in Bengaluru and they are planning to give the details to people, so that people know what to expect and how to use the store.

Hope, the outlet also takes care of the  cases of caterpillar and insects found in the food provided by the Hyderabad outlet of IKEA.

In addition, IKEA has also started finding out the choices of people in Bengaluru to keep it ready for the people when the store opens. As Bengaluru Mirror reported, it is said that the team has found out that there is a demand for idli cookware and accessories for pooja rooms. Thus the store has already started preparing these items.
