Age is not a constraint to fulfil your dreams might look like cliché, but here is a freedom fighter from Karnataka, who is trying to fulfil his long-pending dream at the age of 89.

Sharanabasavaraj Bisarahalli from, Koppal district in Karnataka has appeared for the entrance test to pursue PhD. He was the eldest candidate to write the test at Hampi University in Kannada literature.

Sharanabasavaraj was earlier a teacher too, but couldn't pursue PhD then due to many commitments as well as the fact that he scored less than 55% while pursuing his master's, which is the minimum requirement to write the exam.

Sharanabasavaraj retired in 1991 and enrolled himself for degree in law. Later, he enrolled for master's degree in Kannada from the Karnataka University. But after a while, he enrolled for the same course again from the Hampi University and breached the minimum cut -off marks to apply for PhD.

Bisarahalli has three sons and two daughters, all have settled in different fields. In fact, Bisarahalli had written the test for PhD last year too, but could not pass it.

Bisarahalli has also authored 15 books and hopes to pass the entrance test and start his PhD in Kannada literature under an able guide.
