Srinagar: Security forces have gunned down six terrorists during an encounter on Saturday in Arampora area of South Kashmir Pulwama district.
While two terrorists, including the deputy of Zakir Musa’s group Ansar Ghazwat-ul Hind, were killed in the initial gunfight, four more terrorists were killed later.
The slain terrorist who is believed to be a close aide of Musa has been identified as Salia Aakhoon.
The encounter was carried out by a joint team of Army's 42RR, 180 BN CRPF and SOG Awantipora. They launched a cordon and search operation in the area targeting the hiding terrorists.
As a precautionary measure, the authorities have suspended the internet services and imposed CrPC 144 in the area.
