Ahead of the no confidence motion, PM Modi took to Twitter to appeal to his fellow MPs to ensure a disruption-free debate
Before discussion and voting on the non-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that today is a big day for our parliamentary democracy.
The first non-confidence motion brought against the Modi government on Friday will be discussed and voted in the Lok Sabha. Earlier, the speaker had accepted the non-confidence motion given by the opposition on the very first day of the monsoon session.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, " Today is an important day in our Parliamentary democracy. I am sure my fellow MP colleagues will rise to the occasion and ensure a constructive, comprehensive & disruption free debate. We owe this to the people & the makers of our Constitution. India will be watching us closely.”
This is the first non-confidence motion brought against any government in the last 15 years. NDA has a majority. In such a situation, there is no danger to Modi.
