Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday appointed Prashant Kishor as the vice president of Janata Dal (United).
This makes Kishor the second most powerful person in the party.
Top highlights:
1. Kishor, who has worked for a number of parties as a poll strategist, recently joined the ruling party in Bihar. Kishor, before coming to India, used to work in Africa with his team named Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) that boasted of a massive election feedback mechanism and social media department headed by some alumni of different IITs and IIMs. Kishor's team came in handy for Narendra Modi's campaign in 2014 and Nitish Kumar's in 2015.
2. Party spokesperson KC Tyagi said Kishor's appointment will help to reach out to social segments out of its traditional support base.
