The arrest on Monday night of Congress social media cell senior Chirag Patnaik for allegedly sexually harassing 26-year-old colleague Nausheen Haider (name changed) was prompted by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) directive to the police to quickly act in such cases, irrespective of political affiliation. MyNation and the Asianet News group had broken Nausheen’s story and was the first to carry her exclusive interview.

Chaturvedi thanked Singh on Twitter for the prompt action.
I am glad that @HMOIndia & @rajnathsingh ji have taken cognisance of the violent threats directed at me& my minor daughter, hope they will ensure this reaches it's logical conclusion and the culprits are brought to book.

Monday night’s arrest of Patnaik, a close aide of Congress IT cell head Divya Spandana, was a continuation of that momentum that Rajnath Singh had set rolling, said sources in the ministry. The police are a lot more alert in tracking down and acting on such complaints.
Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik is also believed to be a major driving force behind swift police action in such cases.
