Mahindra has launched its highly-acclaimed compact SUV XUV300 in India. Even before the launch, 4,000 bookings have been received for this car. The bookings started on January 9.
This domestic company has the third sub-4-metre SUV in the country. The latest SUV is above the TUV300 and NuvoSport.
In the market, the new XUV300 competes with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon in the subcompact SUV space. In addition, this new SUV will also compete with Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur.
Mahindra XUV300 is primarily launched in three variants - W4, W6, and W8 and optionally one top variant W8 (O) will also be available, which will include additional technology and safety features. The company has kept the initial price of this SUV at Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra XUV300 has been launched in two engine options - diesel and petrol. It has the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that comes with Marazzo.
Here, the engine generates 115 bhp of power at 3750 rpm and pickup torque of 300 Nm between 1500 - 2500 rpm. Here petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged unit which generates a pickup torque of 110 bhp at 5000 rpm and 200 Nm between 2000 - 3500 rpm.
XUV300 also has a lot of features from the base model. It includes dual airbags, ABS, disc brakes on four wheels, 6-speed transmission, LED tail lamps and all four power windows.
In the top model, first-in-segments features such as dual-zone full automatic climate control and front parking sensors have also been provided. There will also be seven airbags, dual LED daytime running lamps and premium interior.
