Bengaluru: A law intern, who recently filed a lawsuit against lawyers for sexual harassment, was found dead in her residence in Malleswaram, Bengaluru.
According to reports, the intern, who hails from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, had come to Bengaluru in 2017 and was interning with Jayanth Pattanshetti Associates in Bengaluru's Infantry Road.
At the firm, she was appointed to work with an advocate Chandra Naik, who introduced her to Chetan Desai, a pleader at the Karnataka high court.
The FIR filed by the law intern reportedly states that both Naik and Desai “would take her to pubs and bars and force her to consume alcohol”. Later, they would “touch her inappropriately and sexually harass her”.
She had filed a sexual harassment complaint with the Commercial Street police on November 20.
Later, Vyalikaval police said that the landlord Leelavathi has also registered a complaint as she had doubts about the intern’s suicide and requested a thorough investigation.
