The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned to send across the message that they stand with Kerala at this moment of crisis — regardless of political dividends. One of the faces of the party down south is its national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao told MyNation that all State units of the BJP are instructed not only to donate but also send teams on ground to help the people of Kerala. He insists that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking stock of the situation personally and this will send the right signal.
The Kerala floods have wreaked havoc on the people of the State, with 46 teams of Navy, 13 teams of Air Force,18 Army teams, 16 Coast guard teams and 21 teams of NDRF working together to rescue all those who are stranded. The flood has disconnected many parts of Kerala from the rest of humanity. So far, at least 324 people have been killed. The marooned have taken refuge in 2,094 relief camps across the State.
Rao, speaking exclusively to MyNation, said entire India stood with Kerala in this hour of crisis — cutting across partisan and ideological lines.
