Kerala floods: Donations to the CM’s relief fund cross Rs 1000 crore

Thiruvananthapuram: The donations to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) has crossed the Rs 1,000-crore, mark.

On Thursday evening, the total contribution to the relief fund stood at Rs 1026 crore.

Around 4.76 lakh, people have made online contributions for the flood-stricken state so far.

Rs 835.86 crore, has been donated through direct deposits and cheques, Rs 145.17 crore, through electronic payments and Rs 46.04 crore, through UPI.

The chief minister has expressed his gratitude for the relief-and-rescue work done by different units of security forces and disaster management in the state.

Cochin International Airport has reopened a few days ago after a 15-day shutdown, and schools that were closed in Kerala have also started to open.

Cochin International Airport in Kochi (COK), which was closed due to the floods, has commenced its operations. CM Pinarayi Vijayan congratulated the officials and employees of CIAL on making the airport functional in a short time. #KeralaFloods

The children of Kerala will go back to school tomorrow, with the exception of a few in severely affected areas. Many of these children were affected by the floods. Schools in the affected areas have been sanitized to welcome them. #KeralaFloodRelief
