Girija's body was in a decomposed state. As there were maggots coming out of the body, it was wrapped in a plastic sheet and later shifted to the mortuary in a municipality vehicle.
A couple lived in a hut in Karwar in Karnataka. The husband was bedridden and could not move due to a stroke he suffered few years ago and his wife was the only person to look after him.
Anandu and Girija resided near Hari Om Circle at KHB Colony in Karwar. Anandu was on a bed and wife Girija was sitting on a chair beside him, when she suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the spot.
But the husband couldn't move nor could shout. The helpless husband was looking at the corpse of his wife for five days and couldn't do anything about it.
After five days, Girija’s brother Subramanya arrived to check on her as she was not answering his phone calls and then after two days her phone was switched off.
He reached her house and knocked on the door. No one answered the door and he did not get any information from the neighbours too. Then, he peeped through the roof to find Girija body in a decomposed state.
Later, Subramanya informed the police, who broke open the door. They shifted Anandu to the district hospital.
