Karnataka: No doctor in primary healthcare centre; child dies, family protests (Video)

Sagar (Karnataka): A 22-month-old girl died due to unavailability of doctors at a primary health care centre in a village in Karnataka. Nikitha, the daughter of Kotteshwara Reddy and Balamma was playing at home when she fell into a bucket full of water. She fell unconscious and her parents rushed her to Sagar village’s primary healthcare centre where no doctor was available. Then, they took her to Shahapur taluk hospital in Yadagiri district, but the baby died on the way. The girl’s family and Jai Karnataka activists protested with the baby’s body in front of the primary healthcare centre.
