New Delhi: International Day of Disabled Persons is observed annually on December 3 to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

The theme of International Day of Disabled Persons 2018 is 'empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality'. It is a part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that pledges to “leave no one behind”.

Employment opportunities for the differently abled in India are few and far between with almost two of them unemployed for every one differently-abled who finds employment.
