New Delhi: Gujarat is home to 58 billionaires, and 84% of them live in Ahmedabad. According to Barclays Hurun India Rich List, industrialist Gautam Adani tops the list of billionaires in Gujarat, followed by Pankaj Patel of Cadila Healthcare and Bhadresh Shah of AIA Engineering.

The cumulative wealth of the 58 individuals Rs 2.54 lakh crore.

Adani has a net worth of Rs 71,200 crore, Patel has Rs 32,100 crore and Shah’s total wealth is Rs 9700 crore.

The Barclays Hurun India Rich List 2018 was compiled on the basis of the net worth of living Indians as on July 31, 2018, when the rate of exchange to the US dollar stood at Rs 68.51.

Out of the total billionaires in Gujarat, 49 live in Ahmedabad, five in Rajkot, three in Surat and one in Vadodara.

Earlier this week, Savji Dholakia, a Surat-based diamond merchant and the owner of Hare Krishna Exporters, has said that as a Diwali gift, he will give cars to 600 employees of his company.

The diamond polishers of Hari Krishna Group will be gifted Renault KWID and Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars.

Gujarat ranks four in India with its wealth, with Maharashtra topping the list with a total of 271 people with a combined wealth of Rs 21.14 lakh crores. Mukesh Ambani is the richest man in India.
