Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation of Rs 23,000-crore Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh. He launched a blistering attack on political opponents, especially Congress President Rahul Gandhi and the Mahagathbandhan in his characteristic way, full of pun.
Putting the Opposition on the backfoot and covering the entire ideological spectrum, Modi said: “Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Ram Manohar Lohiya had seen the dream of village swarajya. But, some political outfits that vouch by equality and equanimity, have only politicked in the name of Babasaheb and Ram Manohar Lohia."
Let us take a look at the five missiles that PM Modi fired on Opposition:
1. I read in newspapers that Congress president Mr Namdar said that Congress is s party of Muslims. I am not surprised. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that Muslims have the first right to natural resources of the country. If Mr Namdar says that Congress is a party of Muslims so be it. But I want to ask him if Congress is the party of only Muslim men or women too? Is there place for the dignity and pride of Muslim women too? They sit and stall law in the Parliament and disrupt it.
2. Reality is that these political parties have not benefitted people and the poor, but ensured their own benefit and that of their relatives and family. They asked Dalits, backwards and the poor for votes; made their governments in their names and then lined their own coffers. Nothing else. Nowadays you are seeing that those who never saw eye to eye, who never liked each other have come together. Whenever they meet, day or night, they just discuss Modi…Modi.
3. The real faces have been exposed by their stands on the issue of triple talaq. On the one hand where the Central government is working to make the lives of women easy, on the other, these parties are imperilling the lives of women, especially Muslim sisters and daughters.
4. I want to tell these dynastic parties who are toiling hard to defeat Modi, there are a few days left for the next Parliament session to open go and meet the victims of triple talaq. Talk to them and then come to the Parliament.
5. Political parties that are living in the 18th century in the 21st, can only give slogans to replace Modi, but cannot do anything for the welfare of the country. They want that triple talaq remains and thelives of Muslim daughters and sisters remains hell. But I assure you that I will try to convince these parties for our Muslim daughters and sisters and to bring them with us.
