Bengaluru: The tussle for power seems to have no end. The topsy-turvy state of affairs in Karnataka left the people of the state wondering whether the there would indeed be any progress with the State Budget presentation.
After two days of tense situations in the Assembly which saw the BJP protest, claiming that the government had no majority to present the budget due to absent Congress MLAs, the chief minister retaliated on Friday saying alleging that Yeddyurappa attempted to woo JD(S) MLA Naganagouda's son Sharanagouda Kandkur. Kumaraswamy also released an audio clip as evidence.
Yedyurappa called this clip ‘fake’ and said that he would resign as a leader of the Opposition and an MLA if this was proved true. Calling Kumaraswamy a film producer and an expert in voice recording, the BJP leader turned the tables once again and accused Kumaraswamy of trying to poach a BJP MLA.
The fiasco continued until the presentation of the Budget where one expected high drama, only to see the BJP stage a walkout.
The budget presentation continued and for once money matters of the state became the highlight of the state administration.
All eyes and ears are on the ready in expectation of a post Budget battle.
