New Delhi: A BSF constable has been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorism squad (ATS) from Noida for allegedly sharing confidential information with the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI.

Police said that a woman agent of the ISI honey trapped constable Achyutanand Mishra and was receiving confidential information.

Uttar Pradesh Police director general Om Prakash Singh, in press conference on Wednesday, told that Mishra, who lives in Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by the ATS team from Noida, sector-18 on Tuesday.

Police said that Mishra had admitted to leaking out information of strategic importance, internal information and information about training centres of the BSF and Army.

Mishra, during the inquiry, said that the female ISI agent befriended him on Facebook and since then the constable has been sharing confidential information with her.

Currently, Mishra is being questioned further.

A case has been lodged against him on the grounds of treason.
