An Ola taxi driver was arrested in Bengaluru for attacking and trying to kidnap a woman headed to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

The driver of the cab, identified as Suresh, 28, was driving under the influence of alcohol, when he was nabbed by the police. He was booked for outraging the modesty of a woman, kidnapping and drunk driving.

On Wednesday (July 4), the 30-year-old victim booked a cab to the airport. The woman was travelling to KIA in the cab, from Banaswadi, at around 11.30 pm.

After passing the KIA toll gate, the driver switched lanes and headed towards Hyderabad at a high speed. The woman sensed danger and screamed and banged on the window.

Some of the motorists on the road noticed and at the next toll gate, the driver was pulled out of the car and the police were alerted. Hoysala patrol van arrived at the spot and arrested the driver.

Recently, another Ola cab driver tried to strip a passenger and take her pictures. He was arrested after she complained to the city police commissioner.

Reacting to the horrific incident, Ola released a statement saying, "We are deeply disturbed to know about the incident. The cab involved has been removed from our platform. We are extending all needed support to the customer. Additionally, we are also engaging with the police to lend assistance in their ongoing investigation."
