Dehradun: As Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir stands avenged, Major Dhoundiyal's martyrdom was felicitated in Dehradun. On Tuesday, his mortal remains were kept for his final journey to Dangwal Marg residence in Dehradun. Thousands of people reached to get a last glimpse of their heroic soldier. Slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Pakistan Murdabad' were echoing.
In the meanwhile, the family bid goodbye to their beloved. His wife Nikita was silent since the news of Major Dhoundiyal's martyrdom. She stood firmly while giving her last farewell to her husband. She said, "Jai Hind," and saluted her husband's body. After this, she kissed her husband's forehead and said, "I love you." Major Dhoundiyal got married last year. He has three older sisters apart from his mother and wife. All of them were drowned in gloom as the martyr was wrapped in tricolor.

Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, Sergeant Ram, Sepoy Hari Singh and Ajay Kumar were martyred in an encounter in Pulwama on Monday. Major Dhandial was from Dehradun, whose body was brought to his house on Monday night.
In this encounter, the security forces killed Kamran alias Gazi Rashid, a conspirator of the Pulwama terror attack. An encounter took place in Pulwama for 18 hours on Monday, in which a total of 3 terrorists were killed.
