New Delhi: An Army jawan, who was accused of killing a cop in the Bulandshahr violence, was handed over by the troops to Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday, for further investigation.
The jawan has been identified as Jeetendra Malik and he is a jawan with 22 Rashtriya Rifles posted in north Kashmir's Sopore. He has been accused of killing inspector Subodh Singh in the violence that broke out in Bulandshahr last week over alleged illegal cow slaughter.

Sources said that Malik was handed over to the UP authorities after a nod from the Indian Army. Earlier on Saturday, Malik was taken into custody by the Army.
The UP police scanned over 200 video recordings related to the incident and then identified Malik, as he is seen in a video firing at the riots, that led to the killing of the cop and a local youth.
Malik is one of the 27 accused named in the FIR lodged for violence rioting and murder in Bulandshahr.
