23-year-old teacher hacked to death in school

Cuddalore: A 23-year-old school teacher from Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district was hacked to death in the premises of the school she worked in, on Friday. The woman's attacker has been identified as Rajasekhar, who allegedly murdered her for not accepting his marriage proposal.

Ramya was one of the first staffers to enter the school on Friday morning. She was allegedly sitting alone in one of the classrooms when the accused entered the premises. Upon seeing her alone, the accused used attacked her with a sharp object. He cut her neck and face and Ramya died on the spot.

Police said that a cleaning staff in the school was alerted by her cries and came rushing into the room only to find her dead. The school management then alerted the Kurinjipadi police station.

Police stated that as per the preliminary enquiry, Rajasekhar was in love with Ramya for months and approached her. She rejected him. "The man also went to her parents and asked for her hand in marriage, but they too declined. Angered by this rejection, he killed her," a police report stated.
