Nalgonda: The Congress workers attacked and destroyed a campaign vehicle of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) at Gandamvarigudem on the outskirts of the Nalgonda town on Friday morning.

Tension escalated in Nalgonda Assembly constituency after this incident.

Hundreds of TRS workers, led by Nalgonda TRS candidate K Bhupal Reddy’s wife Rama Devi, staged a rasta roko seeking action against the Congress workers.

Rama Devi was campaigning in SLBC Colony in Gandamvarigudem locality while her prachara ratham was parked on the roadside.

At the same time, the Congress candidate Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with his followers was going to Charlagourarm for his campaign.

On noticing the TRS vehicle parked on the roadside, the Congress workers threw stones on it and tore down the posters on the vehicle. As the news started to spread, Rama Devi and TRS workers rushed there and staged a demonstration seeking the arrest of the Congress workers. The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
