Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, became human on Rama Navami and lived in the kingdom of Ayodhya. He is referred to as Lord Vishnu's 'ardha ansh' since he is half as divine as the latter.

The event is held on the ninth day of the bright half of the Hindu lunar month, Chaitra. On this day, devotees perform special prayers and pujas to Lord Ram, as well as recite the Ramayana, a sacred Hindu epic that narrates his life.

The day is marked on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month (Hindu calendar). According to the Gregorian calendar, the day normally falls between March and April. In 2024, Rama Navami will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17.

What is the meaning of Ram Navami?
Ram Navami is a Hindu festival that commemorates Shri Ramachandra's appearance in Ayodhya during the period known as Treta Yuga.
