Study findings
A new report published in 'The Lancet' shows that walking daily can help alleviate back pain. Weak back muscles and poor posture often lead to lower back pain, making it difficult to sit or walk. Regular walking can reduce this pain by strengthening the lower back muscles and improving posture.

According to statistics in the report, over 619 million people suffer from back pain each year, and this number could rise to 843 million by 2050. Dr Natasha Pocovi, a researcher in the Department of Health Sciences at Macquarie University, Australia, believes that preventing back pain is better than treating it. She suggests that walking daily can help reduce severe lower back pain that may arise from prolonged sitting in the future.

Regular walking
Daily walking not only strengthens back muscles but also boosts energy levels. It helps reduce stress and control weight. Start by walking for 10 minutes, four to five times a week, and gradually increase the duration. During your walk, wear comfortable shoes. Consuming a fruit-based diet before a walk can also promote overall well-being.
