Faced rejection over 50 times

Dr Velumani experienced the pain of rejection over 50 times in his career. This experience became his inspiration, which led him to resolve that he would create a platform for freshers in his company so that they would not have to face the same difficulties that he did. His endeavor was not only to provide jobs to freshers but also to train them and give them the opportunity to advance in their careers.

Demand for experience

In a talk show, he says that every cardiologist also has a first surgery. If he doesn't get experience beforehand, he can never become a surgeon. Similarly, every new candidate should also get the opportunity to work for the first time. Companies need to understand that it is also a big responsibility to train freshers by giving them jobs.

Unlearn and Relearn

He says that when a person comes from another company, many times they have to "unlearn" their previous learnings and "relearn" in the new environment. The role of companies is crucial in this entire process so that workers can move forward in the right direction.

What should freshers work on?

Now the question is, how should freshers prepare themselves so that they don't face repeated rejections? Answering a question, Dr Velumani says that freshers should never ask three questions during an interview. First, how many duty hours are there? Second, what will be my responsibilities? And third, how many holidays will I get? Whenever freshers prioritize these questions, it sends a negative message. Instead, the candidate should focus on their skills, learning attitude, and how they can contribute to the company.
