It is a flavourful, sweet dessert from South India that will surely add joy to your Holi celebrations. It looks delectable and tastes just the same. Follow the recipe that we’ve brought for you, and your delicious Mysore Pak will be ready in no time.

Ingredients

1 cup of gram flour
1 cup of ghee
1 cup of sugar
¼ cup of water
A pinch of cardamom powder
Chopped nuts for garnish

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Take a plate or tray and grease with butter and set it aside. Then, in a pan, mix sugar and water to make the syrup. Heat the mixture until the sugar completely dissolves.

Step 2: Take a pan with heavy bottom and heat the ghee in it over medium heat. Then, add the gram flour and mix thoroughly.

Step 3: Continuously stir the gram flour to prevent the formation of lumps. Gradually, the mixture will thicken, and it will begin emanating a delightful aroma.

Step 4: Continue cooking the gram flour and ghee mixture until it turns a golden-brown colour and emits a nutty aroma. This process typically takes about 10-12 minutes.

Step 5: When the gram flour mixture is completely cooked, reduce the flame and slowly pour the hot sugar syrup into the pan. Stir continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

Step 6: After adding the sugar syrup to the mixture, bubbles will begin forming. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan. This step will take another 5-7 minutes.

Step 7: To enhance the flavour of Mysore Pak, you can also consider adding a pinch of cardamom powder. Moreover, you can also add dry fruits of your choice into the mixture.

Step 8: When the mixture looks completely cooked and reaches the desired consistency, pour it into a greased tray. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface. Garnish with chopped nuts and press the mixture gently.

Step 9: Allow it to cool down. Once cooled, cut Mysore Pak into squares or shapes of your choice. Store the pieces in an airtight container, and then serve it to your guests on Holi.
