Here's how to pick the right lipstick shade according to your zodiac sign

With the festive season around the corner, if you are looking to splurge on new makeup, here's help. Celebrity makeup artist Aashmeen Munjaal tells you the fail-proof way of picking a lipstick colour guided by astrology. 

ARIES (March 21- April 19)

Fire sign Aries is denoted by the symbol of the ram. Their strong and forceful personality makes them natural leaders. Just like their fiery zodiac sign, red would suit an Aries the best. Opt for lipsticks in bold colours such as red, orange and shades of rich plum to enhance your fiery personality and reflect your passion and energy. 

TAURUS (April 20- May 20)

The ruling planet of Taurus or the bull is Venus. Taureans are popular for loving everything in excess and are especially partial towards luxe things in life. Lip glosses in neutral colours such as smoky shades, grey, silver, white, champagne and berry would appeal the earthy nature of this head-strong sign.

GEMINI (May 21- June 20)

The twins are extremely well known for their dual, sensual nature, and that's why they should get the best of both worlds. Blend your lipstick colours to help your sun sign's penchant of having a tough time making up your mind. Peach, pale pink shades in matte texture would suit your active lifestyle.

CANCER (June 21- July 22)

Typical homebodies, the crabs are quite conservative when it comes to their makeup choices. Like a crab, they withdraw into their shell in an unpleasant situation but this should not be mistaken for cowardice. Muted tones in beige, coral or pink will appeal your nurturing nature.

LEO (July 23- August 22)

This royal sign does not do things in halves. Powerful, gorgeous, and courageous is your motto. So, go for bright attention-grabbing shades such as orange, fire-engine red or even metallic lip colours.

VIRGO (August 23- September 22)

Earthy Virgos are extremely picky in nature. After much trial and error, narrow down on the shade chart of peach, mauve or pale pink with a matching lip liner. More experimental virgins can dabble with blue and moss green too. 

LIBRA (September 23- October 22)

Airy Librans are the charmers of the zodiac. The best colours for this sign are pink, yellow, and aqua, to suit their amiable personalities.

SCORPIO (October 23- November 21)

Passionate and intense, scorpions are attracted to maroon and warm shades like burgundy or berry for their pout. Matte, long wear textures suit them well.  

SAGITTARIUS (November 22- December 21)

Friendliest sign on the chart,  Sagittarians can switch between crazy experimental or extremely conservative when it comes to lip colours. So, try keeping a bold shade like purple, chocolate brown and their milder counterpart such as mauve or nude in your vanity box. 

CAPRICORN (December 22- January 19)

Capricorns are extremely dedicated and ambitious, many even being workaholics. The are usually inclined towards using earthy shades and pinks in glossy, moisturising textures. 

AQUARIUS (January 20- February 18)

Aquarians are great philanthropists and worry too much about earth and people around them. Many of us think Aquarius should be a Water sign, but in fact, this is one of the most eye-catching representatives of the Air sign. Being of tranquil nature, nude hues would complement them the best. Using a bronzer for the skin is another great idea. Shades like purple suits in terms of makeup and they also provide Aquarians with more chances to experiment.

PISCES (February 19- March 20)

Being the fish of the zodiac, Pisceans are emotional, spiritual and can be coaxed to be experimental too. So, softer shades of the colour palette suit them well.
