Vinay Devraj established his first stall in April 2018 during his college years. In the beginning, his family members and friends expressed concerns about the profitability of the business. Today, he operates four stalls at different locations while making substantial income.
Lucknow: In the early mornings in Lucknow, Vinay Devraj Chaudhary, a resident of Hazratganj, sells herbal juice to the locals. He sets up his stall at the entrance of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Gomtinagar. The stall offers various juices like neem, jamun, acacia, amla (gooseberry), and lemonade. This startup is not associated with any well-known company but is Vinay’s own business endeavour. Vinay mentions that he decided to establish his first stall in April 2018 during his college years.
The beginnings
Vinay Devraj had limited financial resources when he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey. He recalls starting with the juicer machine available at his home. He used to start as early as 4 in the morning. The sound of the mixer often disturbed his family members’ sleep and they complained about it. Even the neighbours questioned his early morning activities. His friends also raised concerns about his business ideas. However, today, the same people visit his stall to enjoy the juices.
High quality of juices
Vinay’s startup was inspired by the fact that people liked indulging in healthy food but often lacked the time to prepare something for themselves. He decided to offer healthy juice options to the public. Starting with homemade herbal juice, he gradually introduced amla and aloe vera juice to the menu. Initially, the prices were set at Rs 10 per glass. Today, he operates four stalls at different locations and the customers can choose from a variety of herbal juices including neem, jamun, giloy, tulsi, and many more. Vinay emphasizes that he ensures compliance with necessary quality standards through certifications.
Promoting wellness
Vinay hails from a middle-class background. After completing his school studies, he sought employment opportunities to support his family financially. He pursued a BBA degree from a city college, and during his studies, he gained insights into the health sector. He recognized the need for health-related products and saw the potential in venturing into this field. His vision was to raise awareness about health and ayurveda. This vision motivated him to embark on his journey and making a career in the health sector.
