New Delhi. Naaz Anjum, a textile engineer from Hyderabad, launched her home-based food business with a small investment of Rs 80. Today, she earns over Rs 1 lakh in a month. Following her marriage in 2010, she moved to Hyderabad and discovered her passion for cooking. Her neighbours, particularly bachelors, loved her food. Encouraged by their praise and support, she decided to start her own business, and since then, there has been no looking back.

The beginnings

In the early days, bachelors living in the same building as Naaz Anjum, who often found it difficult to cook for themselves due to long working hours, often requested her to prepare dinner for them. Gradually, their demand increased, and they began asking her for tiffin daily, as they loved the food she prepared. This positive response from her neighbours boosted her enthusiasm. In the year 2016, she started ‘Anjum Kitchen’ from her home, with just Rs 80 as an initial investment. With a passion for making biryani, she took her business to immense success.

Achieving success

During Ramzan in 2016, Naaz Anjum made sweets like Double Ka Meetha and Lauki Halwa at her neighbours’ request. She also received her first order for Mutton Dum Biryani for a small party in HITEC City. The biryani was such a hit that orders began to pour in steadily after that.

Word-of-mouth advertising and social media helped her expand her business. Soon, Anjum Kitchen became one of the renowned women-led cloud kitchens in Hyderabad. The sweets and biryani she prepared became immensely popular.

Being an inspiration

Today, Anjum Kitchen is considered one of the successful cloud kitchens in Hyderabad. It handles 25-50 orders daily and generates more than Rs 1 lakh in monthly revenue. During the pandemic, she completed over 500 food orders. Her journey from a textile engineer to a successful cloud kitchen owner is truly inspiring for all the women who dream of following their passion.
