New Delhi: Nita Ambani, the wife of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, served as a member of the Reliance Board of Directors for many years. In August 2023, she announced her resignation from the position of a board member. This move paved the way for her children, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani to join the board of directors while she resigned from her role on the RIL board. 

Nita Ambani’s role

Interestingly, Nita Ambani did not receive a monthly salary as a member of Reliance Board of Directors. She was paid the fees for board meetings. According to the annual report of RIL, Nita Ambani was paid around Rs 6 lakh for the board meetings. For the session 2022-23, she received a commission of Rs 2 crore and was not eligible for any other remuneration. 

Salary of Nita Ambani’s children

Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani, who have taken positions on the company's board, are not expected to receive salaries, similar to their mother Nita Ambani. Instead, they will receive meeting fees and an annual commission. 

According to the report, Nita Ambani's children will be compensated only for attending board or committee meetings, as well as for any related expenses. Additionally, Nita Ambani resigned from the board of Reliance and handed over her position at the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute to her daughter, Isha Ambani.
