An 18-year-old boy from Noida Sector 12, who sells samosas to make ends meet, has overcome significant obstacles to pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Despite the difficulties he faces daily, Sunny Kumar has achieved his dream of pursuing a medical career. Alakh Pandey from Physics Wallah shared Kumar's inspiring journey on social media, providing motivation to numerous NEET UG candidates.

In one of the videos posted by Physics Wallah, Sunny Kumar’s rented room is shown with notes and study materials pinned to the wall. The footage features Pandey reviewing the short notes Kumar prepared for quick revisions. Moments later, Kumar remarks, “Maine sab kuch hi cover kar dia, isme short notes jaisa kuch raha nahi [I have covered everything; there’s nothing left like short notes in this].”

Sunny Kumar’s commitment to his studies was evident when he scored an impressive 664 out of 720 on the NEET 2024 exam, all while working at his samosa stall for 4-5 hours each day.

Kumar's hard work and dedication are evident in his routine. In the video, he shared that he would have only one to two hours during his break to set up his samosa stall. Despite everything, he persisted with his efforts. His commitment is further highlighted by the lack of support from his father, who, despite being present, did not contribute to his endeavours.

When Pandey inquires about who supports him at home, Kumar explains, “Ghar me mummy bolti hai. Mummy ka full support hai. (It’s my mother who supports me. She provides me with full support.)”

As is seen in the video, Kumar's mother has been a pillar of support throughout his journey. She consistently provided encouragement and assistance, helping him stay focused on his studies and pursue his goals.

To support Kumar in achieving his goals, Pandey has pledged Rs 6 lakh and committed to covering his medical college tuition fees.
